Privacy policy

We collect your name, number and address so your meat can be packed and delivered. We never sell your data, and we never use it for advertising.

This policy explains what MR MEATS (Pty) Ltd collects when you use the MR MEATS app, why, and what control you have.

What we collect and why

Name and mobile number

So your butcher can pack the right order and your driver can reach you at the gate.

Shared with the butchery and the driver assigned to your order.

Delivery address and instructions

To deliver your order to the right place.

Shared with the driver assigned to your order.

Order history and ratings

To show your past orders, and to hold butchers to a quality standard.

Your rating and review are shown to the butchery and other customers. Your name is not attached to a rating shown publicly.

Email address (optional)

Order confirmations, if you give us one.

What we don't do

  • •We don't sell or rent your personal information to anyone.
  • •We don't use your data for advertising or build advertising profiles.
  • •We don't track your location in the background — see the location policy.
  • •We don't store your card details. Our payment provider handles those.

Where your data lives

In this version of the app, your account details, cart and order history are stored on your own deviceand are not uploaded to a MR MEATS server. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling it removes them.

When we move to server-side accounts, this policy will be updated before that change ships, and your data will be stored in South Africa or a jurisdiction with equivalent protection under POPIA.

Who we share with

  • •The butchery you ordered from — your name, order contents and delivery suburb.
  • •The driver delivering your order — your name, number, address and delivery instructions, for the duration of that delivery.
  • •Our payment provider, to take payment.
  • •Nobody else, unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Order records are kept for five years, because South African tax law requires us to keep transaction records. Everything else is deleted when you delete your account.

Your rights under POPIA

You may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can do all three from Account → Download or delete my data, or by emailing support@mrmeats.co.za. We respond within 30 days.

If you are unhappy with how we handled a request, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa.

Children

MR MEATS is not intended for under-18s and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If we change how we use your data, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect — not quietly in a policy update.
